Currently living in Los Angeles, Yan is a producer whose films have won numerous awards at many international film festivals, and a piano teacher and a fashion illustrator with a long career in the fashion industry.
Yan was diagnosed with bone cancer when she was in high school. After 2 years of chemotherapy and long, painful treatments, Yan finally beat the cancer. After 5 surgeries and various limb preservation methods, she finally had her right lower leg amputated. After the amputation, Yan remained positive and optimistic about life, continuing her various hobbies, such as playing the piano and painting. She even went back to the ice rink to continue skating. She does all kinds of sports and lives a more positive life than normal people.
At the same time, Yan also actively participates in various charitable activities and does her best to help the marginalized and disabled groups in the society.
