Aaron Thao is a well-mannered and passionate individual currently based in New York but born and raised in San Diego, CA. Thao was introduced to music and the arts at a young age thanks to their parents which then created a strong desire for self-expression. Thao took up vocal lessons from ages 10-15 and joined their choir in middle school and show choir at Eastlake High. Thao was introduced into the dance community at age 16 and developed a huge passion for dance, joined competitive dance teams, pursued professionally, and intermittently going in and out of taking classes until the age of 25. Thao then took up an interest in the beauty industry and attended Paul Mitchell the School, was accepted into their Honors Program, and obtained their Cosmetology License. Working behind the chair and with so many different walks of life, Thao made it their mission to always create a safe space for whoever sat in their chair. This philosophy began to transcend into every project Thao would work on and while maintaining their hair career, Thao was later brought onto AfterPay’s Pride Campaign for their GenderFree Shop in 2021 and DollsKill Pride Campaign in 2022. Thao then also made their runway debut for LAFW in Michael Ngo’s ANIMA Collection in 2023.
