Jon grew up in Whitefish, Montana where he was a ski instructor and life guard. He was injured at Big Sky ski resort and now uses a wheelchair. Jon received his masters at Ohio State University in Interactive design at ACCAD on the Dean’s fellowship. He worked at public access television, where he taught computer animation and video production for several years. Life in a wheelchair has allowed Jon a unique and humbling perspective that has manifested itself in his art work. Because all Jon's work deals with issues of accessibility it is essential to make his work accessible. The term “access”itself must be clarified to include conceptual, intellectual and Muti-sensory access as well as physical access. Jon's contemporary art work has been shown in several galleries, contemporary art centres and museums : here is a partial list- Sala de Exposidones CAM , Alicante, Spain- 8th digitalSalon/Visual Arts Museum, New York, NY - Prix Art Electronic, Linz Austria- ContemporaryArt Centre of New Orleans, LA- Smithsonian International Gallery, Washington, DC- Weiner Centre for the Arts, Columbus ,Ohio- Triennial di Milano, Milan, Italy
