Makayla has a skin condition called vitiligo and was first diagnosed at five years old. The confidence she has today has been empowered by seeing Winnie Harlow as a role model.
As a young adult, Makayla’s outlook on how she views herself has shifted hugely. She has learnt to love her vitiligo more and wants to help show others and teach them to love themselves. She would like to be a role model to other people and make people more aware of vitiligo, and others that you can achieve anything in life.
Makayla is enthusiastic about playing and watching sport and loves animals, she is at university studying Sports Journalism where she has worked with a few Premier League clubs as press, such as Manchester City and Arsenal.
Makayla has achieved a lot of things in dance and it has been a huge part of her life. She was UK Freestyle Champion in 2015 at Talent Fest Uk and was also Face of Talent Fest UK which she modeled for the magazine and was the main face of the company for that following year. She has also performed on multiple West-end stages as part of Pineapple Dance Studios and spent two years at Wilkes Academy Performing Arts.
