Originally from the Isles of Scilly, Sarah radiates joy and is one of the most positive people you will

meet. She is a qualified nurse with an esteemed career behind her. Despite being diagnosed with a

rare and incurable neuromuscular disease, she has continued to practice nursing and now specialises

in disability analysis. She offers medical advice to the government and advises the courts on medical

negligence cases.

After having a son with a severe learning disability and non-verbal autism, she is fluent in Makaton,

chairs the PTA at her Son’s special school and is the parent governor and lead governor for both

safeguarding and SEND at her daughter’s independent school.

Determined to do all that she can to make the world more accessible to those living with chronic

illness and disability, she founded an accessible travel agency earlier this year.

In March 2024, she was appointed as an ambassador for Mortal and Strong (a charity which supports

those affected at a young age by life changing or incurable conditions.) Her life’s mission is to show

the world that joy can still be found even in the darkest of times and she lives by the motto: “GO

GRAB LIFE!”
