On graduating from her Acting degree at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Ali had two major operations to remove a spinal tumour and spent years learning to walk again with an ankle-foot orthosis. During her recovery she started writing songs and went on to form the band MOTHER, who have performed at Festival No.6, Bluedot festival and BBC 6 Music in a live session for Marc Riley.
Her acting credits include ‘National Treasure’ (Channel 4) and playing Jackie Morrisey in ‘England is Mine’ (Essoldo Pictures). She garnered critical acclaim for her performance in the short film ‘Troubled Waters’, winning Best Female Actor (Little Wing Film Festival), Best Actress in a Leading Role (Midlands Movies Awards) and Best Performance in a Drama (The People’s Film Festival) in 2020.
One of her proudest achievements is hiking 16 miles in a day to commemorate her Dad’s anniversary during 2021. Ali is happiest when outdoors; wild swimming, camping and growing veggies in her garden.
