Sarah was born with two distinct limb differences; one affecting her left hand (symbrachydactyly) and one affecting her right lower leg (fibular hemimelia). She has worn a prosthetic leg since she was 10 months old, but recently had an elective below knee amputation to enable her to achieve greater mobility and to live pain-free. Sarah is a Mum to three boys, which keep her active, and were the driving force behind the decision to opt for amputation. Since having her amputation, Sarah has discovered a new-found body confidence and now proudly shows off her prosthetic leg.
Becoming a model was a childhood dream of Sarah’s but, due to her disabilities, she never thought that it would happen. She is so grateful that attitudes to disability have changed and is proud that she is now able to embrace this opportunity, in a more inclusive and accepting society.
Sarah has a bubbly, warm personality, and a positive attitude towards everything that she does. She is a keen reader and is also building up her strength to get back into running and other physical challenges such as climbing. She is active on Instagram, connecting with other amputees to be inspired and to support others on their own amputation journeys. She is passionate at showing others that dreams can be achieved…...at any age!
