Phoebe is a confident and outgoing girl, with a great sense of humour, who does not let her disability stop her from achieving her goals. She has a rare condition called Friedreich’s Ataxia which affects her nervous system, balance, condition and ability to walk. She uses a wheelchair and crutches or a stick to support her mobility. She can stand and walk for short distances unaided. She loves fashion and beauty and wants to work in the fashion industry breaking down barriers as she is passionate about disability rights and challenges other people’s views on this.
Phoebe loves sports playing wheelchair basketball, swimming to a high standard, para rock climbing and canoeing. She is a disabled weightlifter and trains 3 times a week, showing commitment and determination to push herself and despite her physical condition.
She has opened the deadlifting for Britain’s Disabled Strongman Competition in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and at the Arnolds Fitness Exposition at the NEC Birmingham. She has won best junior lifter at the International All round Weightlifting Association British Disability Competition in 2022 and 2023 setting 7 British records and 3 world records. She is recognised in the disabled strength sport community for her determination, and is frequently admired for her inspirational can do attitude.
She has been a member of Plymouth Performing Arts Academy for over 6 years. She loves acting and comedy acting and takes regular LAMDA lessons and exams. Phoebe loves traveling and visiting different cities, despite her disability she has been interrailing around Europe and wants to live in London or America when she is older.
