Michael is from a small country town Langhorne Creek which is an hour southeast of Adelaide. He grew up with his twin brother Christopher and was always very active. He was born without the lower half of his right arm missing but that never stopped him from jumping head first into what ever he put his mind to. From an early age he wanted to be the best in the world at something. That was running and running far. He is the fastest ever Paralympian in the marathon, running 2:18.51, currently holds the 1500m, 5000m & 10,000m World Record and is hoping to go to his 5th Paralympic Games next year in Paris. When not running Michael enjoys time with his family, drinking nice coffee and finding the next best red wine. He is a lover of adventure, the outdoors and always being active. He has a passion for fashion, photography and inspiring the next generation especially country and less fortunate kids. He has never let his disability stop him or never make that an excuse for finishing things. He says the hardest thing for him to do is cut up the end of a tomato but instead just eats it.
